Saw True Grit today. The remake that is, not the original. I have to say Jeff Bridges did a damn good job as Rooster Cogburn, though the girl (Haleigh something or other?) deserves all the praise she's been getting too. Its always a joy to watch the older hand relentlessly poke holes in the younger one's logic. Especially when I'm not the young man in question.
Really need to buckle down on this painting thing, though incentives are few and far between since the few I put up on ebay didn't really take off even though they garnered attention. I think next time I'll wait til I have all the models painted and offer them as a complete set. Four five-man squads of Noise Marines with sonic blasters and a blastmaster. I'm going to have to try to price them cheaper too, but dammit I was already making a loss at the price I was charging. Still, if twenty noise marines and thirty Khorne Berserkers don't sell, then I'm not sure what hope my Black Legion have.
The Black Legion force I'm thinking of selling is thus:
Chaos Lord, three Rhino transports, thirty chaos marines (three squads with champion and heavy bolter in each squad), five terminators, landraider and perhaps ten converted raptors. Works out at around 1500 points, all painted and based.
No way in hell I'm going to make back what it cost but I still need to clear my shelves a bit. I still haven't touched half of my fantasy army for God's sake. All in due course.
Had a long and fruitless conversation on that RP site too and attempted to explain why I was staying out of that game. Not sure if I got my point across but the net result is that I'm still staying out of it. I don't know if you'd call that a win or what.
Signing off.
